Claim Your Air Dolomiti Flight Compensation

How to claim compensation for an Air Dolomiti flight delay?

Have you experienced an Air Dolomiti flight disruption? Under the European Regulation 261/2004, passengers affected by a delay or flight cancellation, missed connection, or denied boarding on an Air Dolomiti flight are entitled to compensation for the inconvenience suffered.

Air Dolomiti is a European air carrier, so passengers are entitled to compensation of up to €600 for flights departing from or arriving in the European Union.

Unfortunately, only one in eight passengers knows their rights. And that’s not all – sometimes knowing your rights is just the beginning of a long, exhausting, and disappointing claim process.

SkyRefund is here to help you exercise your rights. Just enter the date and flight number in our online tool. If you're entitled to compensation for an Air Dolomiti flight delay, our team of legal experts will handle the administrative burden and make sure you get the compensation you deserve.

We work on a "No win, no fee" basis. We’ll only charge our fee (35% of your compensation amount) if we successfully enforce your rights and Air Dolomiti pays your compensation.

There’s only one good thing about delays – you can receive up to €600 in compensation.

How much is the compensation for a delayed or cancelled flight?

The amount of compensation that Air Dolomiti must pay you for a delay or cancellation depends on the length of your journey.

  • For journeys under 1500 kilometers, the airline must pay €250.
  • If your flight is between 1500 and 3000 kilometers, you are entitled to €400.
  • For flights over 3500 kilometers, compensation from Air Dolomiti can reach €600.

When can you claim compensation for your flight?

You can claim compensation from Air Dolomiti if your flight was cancelled, arrives with a significant delay, or you were denied boarding. You may also be entitled to compensation if you missed a connecting flight during a journey with a stopover.

Air Dolomiti flight delay

To claim compensation for a recent delay, your flight must meet the following conditions:

  • You arrived at your final destination with more than three hours of delay.
  • The delay was not caused by extraordinary circumstances.

Keep in mind that delays are measured based on the time of arrival at your final destination.

That means that even if you spent 3 hours at the airport waiting for departure, if the pilot makes up for the delay and you arrive at your final destination with less than a 3-hour delay, you are not entitled to compensation because you don’t meet the conditions.

European Regulation 261 defines arrival as the moment at which at least one of the aircraft’s doors is opened after landing.

Airlines usually try to avoid or reduce delays and cancellations. However, sometimes the reasons for a delay are beyond the airline’s control. European Regulation 261 defines these as “extraordinary circumstances.” In such cases, when the flight disruption was not caused by the airline’s actions, the carrier is not liable and is not required to pay compensation.

Common examples of “extraordinary circumstances” include:

  • Adverse weather conditions
  • Civil or political unrest
  • Air traffic control restrictions
  • Closed runways
  • Medical emergencies
  • Strikes by airport staff or unions (but not airline/crew strikes)
  • Security risks

Technical failures are part of normal aircraft operations. Therefore, if a delay or cancellation is caused by a technical failure, it is not considered an extraordinary circumstance. The airline is responsible for regularly checking for technical issues and addressing them. Thus, if your flight disruption by Air Dolomiti is caused by a technical failure, you are entitled to compensation.

Compensation for Air Dolomiti flight cancellation

Under European Regulation 261, you are entitled to compensation for a flight cancellation if the airline informed you of the cancellation less than two weeks before departure.

In case of cancellation, airlines must offer you an alternative flight. If the alternative flight reaches your final destination later than originally planned, you may be entitled to compensation.

If the airline informs you of the cancellation between 7 and 13 days before departure and the alternative flight arrives with more than a 4-hour delay, you are entitled to compensation.

If you are notified of the cancellation less than 7 days before departure and the alternative flight arrives with more than a 2-hour delay, you can claim compensation from Air Dolomiti. In most cases, airlines cancel flights 24 hours before departure, which falls into this compensation category.

The table below shows the conditions under which passengers are entitled to compensation from Air Dolomiti.

Previous Notice Arrival at Final Destination
14 days or more No compensation entitlement.
7-13 days Your alternative flight arrives with more than a 4-hour delay.
