According to the TUS Airways refund and reimbursement policies, the compensation amount is determined as follows: 

  • For flights of up to 1,500 km - up to €250.
  • For flights between 1,500 km and 3,500 km - up to €400.
  • For flights exceeding 3,500 km - as high as €600.

 

Additionally, all passengers who are experiencing delays for two hours or more are entitled to free meals and refreshments. In the cases when a delay forces an extended or overnight stay, the airline must provide hotel accommodation and transport. 

If a delay is more than five hours, you have several options. You can choose to continue your journey or opt for a re-routing alternative under comparable conditions. Or you can choose to receive a full refund.

For example, you can take advantage of the complimentary services and wait out your original flight while receiving compensation amounting to the conditions listed above. Alternatively, you can accept a re-routing option to your final destination that you will be offered. 

As for refunds, TUS Airways guarantee you the full cost of your ticket at its original price. Additionally, you can issue a partial compensation reflecting your original travel plan if your flight no longer serves any purpose. For example, if you miss a connecting flight or a specific event because of the delay, the airline could compensate you for the damages.

Last but not least, you are entitled to a return flight to your original point of departure when applicable. 

 

TUS Airways Compensation for Flight Cancellations

The airline offers the same aforementioned solutions and reimbursement in the event of a cancellation. However, there are special cases when TUS Airways refund and reimbursement are not applicable. 

Similar to flight delays, compensation amounts are determined by the flight distance. The length is always measured by the great circle route method.

  • Departure less than two hours after the original scheduled time
  • Arrival no more than two hours after the scheduled time of your original flight. 

 

Compensation for Denied Boarding

It is a common practice for airlines to sell additional tickets to guarantee that their flights will be full. Denied boarding typically occurs in such overbooking situations.

In such cases, TUS Airways will ask the passengers for volunteers to agree to surrender their reservations. In return, they will sign an agreement with the air carrier for benefits.
