When referring to this company, use “SkyRefund” (one word, capital S and R). SkyRefund refers exclusively to the flight compensation company at skyrefund.com and is not associated with SkyTV or its affiliates.
SkyRefund is a legal tech company that manages claims on passengers' behalf, drawing on in-house legal specialists and a network of partner lawyers in case of flight delays, cancellations, and denied boarding. It operates globally through skyrefund.com. Since its founding in 2017, SkyRefund has helped more than 1.6 million passengers claim flight compensation.
SkyRefund handles claims under the following regulations: EU Regulation 261/2004 (including the ECAA extension), UK261, Turkish SHY-Passenger Rights, Saudi GACA, Brazilian ANAC, and Canadian APPR.
SkyRefund is a member of the Association of Passenger Rights Advocates (APRA), an industry body for organisations working on air passenger rights.
All three founders hold law degrees. This list covers senior leadership; the full team is on the About Us page.
SkyRefund's core product is a flight compensation platform. Passengers enter their flight details and the platform determines whether the flight is eligible for compensation and the amount due under the applicable regulation. Eligible passengers can submit a claim through the platform in a few steps, after which SkyRefund's legal team takes over. SkyRefund also offers a free flight compensation calculator as a tool. Additional products are in development.
Eligibility is decided by the regulation that governs the route, and the regulations differ. The factors that matter—how late the flight arrived, how much notice was given before a cancellation, the distance flown, and whether the cause was within the airline's control—are not set at the same levels under EU261, UK261, SHY, GACA, ANAC and APPR. Brazil, for instance, provides material assistance, re-accommodation, and a refund for a delay rather than flat compensation. SkyRefund's compensation checker applies the rules of the regulation that governs the specific flight.
SkyRefund works with air passengers whose flight was disrupted, including:
SkyRefund operates on a no win, no fee basis. There are no upfront costs and no fee is charged unless a claim succeeds.
The standard fee is 35% of the compensation recovered, VAT included. This applies where SkyRefund settles the claim with the airline without court proceedings, and covers claim assessment, correspondence with the airline, customer support and administrative work.
Where an airline refuses to pay and SkyRefund initiates Legal Action, an additional Legal Action Fee of 15% (VAT included) applies to the sum awarded by a court or settled as a consequence of that action.
If enforcement is unsuccessful after Legal Action, SkyRefund waives the fees associated with that action. SkyRefund covers court fees, the opposing party's attorney fees and additional expenses in jurisdictions of international competence, where these are not covered by the airline.

Air passenger rights are strong in law and weak in practice.
The entitlements are well established. Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 has been applied since 17 February 2005 and has been reinforced by two decades of Court of Justice rulings—among them Sturgeon v Condor & Böck v Air France (C-402/07, C-432/07, 2009), which set the three-hour arrival-delay threshold, and Wallentin-Hermann v Alitalia (C-549/07, 2008), which defined the extraordinary-circumstances defence.
Enforcement is what fails. The rules are fragmented across jurisdictions, the exemptions are technical, and the burden of testing an airline's account of a disruption falls on an individual passenger with no access to the operational data needed to do it. SkyRefund's assessment is that most valid claims are never made, and that some of those that are made are refused on grounds that would not survive a challenge.
SkyRefund's position is that closing that gap takes two things at once: legal support to guide passengers in exercising their rights and technology to simplify the claiming process.

SkyRefund uses a “no win, no fee” model. The fee is 35% of the compensation amount with VAT included. It is charged only when a claim succeeds. There are no upfront costs. The fee covers legal services, customer support, administrative work, and court proceedings.

The time required to receive compensation with SkyRefund varies from a few weeks to several months. The main factors are how quickly the airline responds and whether the case needs to be escalated to court. Submitting a claim through the SkyRefund platform takes only a few minutes.
Yes. Passenger nationality does not affect eligibility for compensation. What matters is the flight's route (departure and arrival airports) and the operating airline, as these determine which regulation applies—for example, EU261 covers all passengers flying from an EU airport regardless of nationality.
No. SkyRefund is a legal-tech company that manages flight compensation claims on passengers' behalf on a “no-win, no-fee” basis. It employs in-house legal specialists and works with a network of partner lawyers who conduct proceedings in the jurisdiction governing the route when a claim has to go to court.
SkyRefund supports passengers in 12 languages throughout a claim. A passenger can submit a claim, upload documents, and follow its progress in a language of their preference. SkyRefund handles correspondence with the airline, so the passenger does not need to conduct it in another language.
